It happened in a shop
in Buggiba, Malta,
While I was buying a summer-cap
I asked a shop-assistant
To bring me
A Miracle.

I wanted no miracle.
It was a mirror what I meant.
But mirror and miracle
Suddenly had exchanged each others places.

And there was no miracle.
Nothing
happened.

For a while only my language was taken away.
Mouth opened.
Showed the end
Of the disunited tip of a tongue.
